Greenwood Montessori School offers both a Toddler Program for children ages 18 months-3 years and a Primary Program for children ages 3-6 years. The Montessori program is most successful when there is a multi-year commitment from families when their child(ren) begin. While we do not require families to sign a multi-year contract, it is our sincere hope that parents are choosing a Montessori program because they embrace the philosophy and believe in the benefits of the continuous journey. Because Greenwood Montessori School is a small program with a limited number of openings per school year, we do consider the registration of a child to be a commitment for the entire school year for which the family is registering.
Programs. Two, tree and five-day programs are available in both the Toddler and Primary Programs. Toddlers must be 18 months old and Primary children 3 years of age by September of the enrolling year. Program hours are as follows:
Half-Day 8:30/9:00-12:00 Full-Day 8:30/9:00-3:00
All children may arrive anytime between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. The two-day program is Tuesday/Thursday, and the three-day program Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Families requesting an alternate two-day or three-day schedule will be placed on a waiting list until closer to the start of the academic year, and requests may be granted if the T/TH, M/W/F schedules have not filled. Half-day Toddlers each lunch at school prior to dismissal; half-day Primary students do not each lunch at school. Requests for an additional lunch hour for Primary students may be granted based on space and availability for an additional fee of $5.00 per hour/per day.
In addition to the above programs, we offer a morning or afternoon Kindergarten Enrichment Program for children who attend half-day Kindergarten at a public school. Half-Day tuition rates apply for this option. Bussing to/from Greenwood Montessori School may be available for children who attend public school Kindergarten in or around the Greenwood area of Warwick. It is the responsibility of the parents to make any such bussing arrangements and can do so by contacting the Warwick School Department.
Children registered for our Kindergarten Enrichment Program, as well as those registered for our full-day program, must bring a nutritious lunch to school with them. Please refer to the "Nutrition - Lunches" Section of our Parent Handbook for specific policies and ideas for lunches.
